Prophecy not only warns of troubling times ahead but assures us that God’s Kingdom is the eventual outcome. By preparing for and seeking this Kingdom, we align ourselves with God’s ultimate plan. This hope for the future helps us endure trials in the present.
4. Demonstration of God's Sovereignty
Finally, prophecy demonstrates God's total sovereignty over all things. Through prophecy, God declares that He is in control of everything—from the beginning to the end. Isaiah 46:9-10 expresses God’s unmatched power: "I am God, and there is none like Me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done." This statement not only showcases God’s ability to foresee the future but His power to bring His plans to pass. God isn’t just predicting the future—He is actively shaping it. In essence, prophecy reveals that God's plans cannot be thwarted, no matter what forces rise against Him.
