So, here we are today, with Ayu healthcare hospitals, with some questionnaires given by patients to us, where they want to know about how a transplant works, how a hair transplantation works, and how does it help them regaining their hair back. So, we have got a few questions from our patients and their relatives who want to opt for a hair transplant; they are having multiple number of questions in their mind that what is hair transplantation. So, I want to answer this question as a hair transplant is a surgical procedure from in which we extract the hair from any donor part of the body, and we incorporate or implant into a places that is called as a recipient side to fulfill the hair gap, and eventually, over a few months time these hair will start to grow, and it will cover the bald area. So mostly in male pattern baldness, hair transplantation is one of the best options as a hair restorating method. So, we have also got some questions regarding who are the most eligible candidates to opt for a hair transplantation. So, somebody who is in the age gap of between 21 years to 60 years is ideally a good candidate to undergo a hair transplantation in which we have to access their scalp, we have to analyze their scalp, we have to try some medications first, and try to resolve their problem, and if the medications are not able to solve their problem and regain their hair back, that's where we decide that this particular candidate is a good candidate to go for a hair transplantation. So, and he should also have an adequate amount of donor area. This is a very important thing for selecting the client. If the donor area is able to fulfill the amount of hair which is required in the bald area to cover, then only he is considered as a good candidate. So, sometimes there are candidates who are not having enough amount of good hair in their donor area. That's where we decide to involve the other body parts apart from the scalp, like the beard, chest, and other areas. What are the methods involved in hair transplantation? Most of my patients have asked me about what are the method that are available to them for hair transplantation. So, basic hair transplantation involves from a non-surgical aspect to surgical aspect to a synthetic hair, I’ll give you a brief explanation about it. Most of the patients who are not able to afford surgical procedures or not indicated for a surgical method we have an option of giving them as a wig or a fiber or synthetic hair or which is mostly human made or synthetically made, which can be attached to their scalp and within 1 hour time they can restore their hair. So, the easiest way of doing a hair restoration is called a hair patch or wig which does not contain any kind of surgeries but as considered as a method of hair restoration. Then in our older days and even now there is a practice of FUT or called Follicular unit transplantation. Thank You.
