This excellent time-lapse documentary follows 35 years of ups and downs of the married life of Václav and Ivana Strnad. From newlywed fresh-faced architectural students living in a cramped socialist-era flat in 1980, they become parents of five children, run a furniture business, build their own house and cope with Ivana’s fragile mental health. Their daily routine is played out against the dramatic backdrop of political and social change where moments of absolute harmony mix with dramatic fights and shocking revelations.
