Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong greeted residents and introduced new People's Action Party (PAP) candidate Yip Hon Weng at a market in Yio Chu Kang on July 3. Mr Yip is a fresh face fielded by the ruling party in the newly carved out Yio Chu Kang SMC. He faces a contest from the Progress Singapore Party's Kayla Low. Mr Yip was formerly the group chief of the Silver Generation Office. He said he understands the needs of the elderly and wants to ensure they benefit from digital inclusion.
