When a bridge is washed away, one of the fastest ways of replacing it is with a Bailey bridge. We're currently installing several Bailey bridges across the country, including at SH2 Waikare Gorge and SH35 Hikuwai River.
These temporary bridges are like giant Meccano sets, which can be packaged up and sent where they need to go.
