Sirens rang out in Kyiv on the morning of Thursday, February 24, as Russian military strikes hit locations inside Ukraine.
In a video published early on Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russian forces would conduct “special military operations” in Ukraine. Explosions were quickly reported near several cities, including Kharkiv and the capital, Kyiv.
