Flying a Cessna 172 or any airplane in the winter takes special preparation and there are things that should be considered. From having the right flight gear, to understanding what is happening with the destination airports runways, taxiways, etc., is all part of winter flying and preparation. Flying in cold weather can result in carburetor ice, airframe ice on the wings, the prop, the flaps, etc., which can lead to a really unfortunate result. So many pilots have had unfortunate results as a consequence of airframe ice. So, come along as I do a cross country flight on a very cold winter flight. I will be landing Quakertown Airport and and making sure my winter flight is safe. Let's fly.
