A gambler has no strategy, won't review his past performance, relies on hope and experiences wild emotional swings. Most of us will end up hoping from time to time but we need to eliminate this as soon as possible; we need to accept risk. The bigger trade size you are trading the bigger your emotional swings will be.

A Trader on the other hand has a plan of attack, is constantly assessing his trades and what he can improve on, accepts risk and dampens emotional swings. Nobody or very rarely do you sit on one side or the other - most traders have traits of each category. As you become a better trader you will start getting immune to emotional swings - you won't end up feeling despair and elation all the time.
