NASA's Sun observing satellites delivered us a few treats to start August. On the second day of the month (Aug. 2), the Moon came between NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) and the Sun. The following day (Aug. 3), a Kreutz sungrazing comet was spotted on a collision course with the Sun by the NASA/ESA Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO).
SDO's imagery of the lunar transit has not been completely relayed to NASA websites as of yet due to a glitch with the spacecraft. Read more about it: [ Ссылка ]
