Alexa Meade painted on collaborator Alli Harvard’s face in a high contrast style, turning her into a living, 2D painting. A still photo taken by Mike Monaghan was then animated to create a haunting feeling of ascension.
As The New York Times describes Alexa’s art, “Think of it as a Van Gogh — that is, if one of his paintings were brought to life as a performative protest."
