The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for several Northeast Ohio counties as heavy rain is set to impact the region on Saturday, while several counties have also been issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning.
The Severe Thunderstorm Warnings are in effect in southeastern Cuyahoga, northeastern Medina, southern Geauga and northern Portage counties until 1 p.m. Saturday. The NWS said wind gusts up to 60 mph are expected to damage trees and powerlines and torrential rain may lead to flash flooding. Affect areas include Cleveland, Ravenna, Parma, Cuyahoga Falls, Cleveland Heights, Strongsville, Brunswick, North Royalton, Kent, Solon, Hudson, Twinsburg, Streetsboro, Warrensville Heights, Macedonia, South Russell, Middlefield, Garrettsville, Burton and Highland Heights.
The NWS says Painesville, Ashtabula, Willowick, Conneaut, Fairport Harbor, Geneva-On-The-Lake, Euclid, Mentor, Willoughby, Eastlake, Geneva, Madison, North Kingsville, Perry, Timberlake, Lakeline, Wickliffe, Richmond Heights, Willoughby Hills and Highland Heights are areas expected to experience flooding.
