Activity Flow:
1. The coach starts the action by passing the ball into one of the squares
2. The team in this square is now the team in possession of the ball
3. The other team must try to win the ball, for this purpose two players run directly into the square and chase the ball, two others secure the space in between and the remaining two stay in their square
4. After a certain number of passes, another defender is added and a 6 vs. 3 is played (if the possession team plays well, it becomes more difficult and the pressure increases)
5. If the team in possession loses the ball or the ball leaves the square, the coach immediately plays a new ball in the other square and the tasks change
6. Alternatively, when the ball is won, the defenders can pass the ball into their own square
Organization:
1. 8 cones to build two squares
2. Enough balls next to the coach
3. Set up the square according to the level of the players (suggestion: 10x10m)
4. Notice the intermediate zone in the middle of the two squares (approx. 4m wide)
5. Divide into two teams (yellow and blue in this case)
6. One team per square
Coaching Points:
1. Pay attention to break times, very intensive playing form without rest periods - coach must introduce specific breaks to keep the intensity and concentration of the players high
2. Movement - Movement to create space to receive the ball for yourself or a team mate
3. Awareness / Orientation - Before moving to support the player on the ball check over your shoulder to see where the space, opponents and your teammates are on the field
4. Deception - Making more movements to move the defender to leave space to receive the ball in
5. Passing - Speed of the Pass - Quickly to allow team mate to turn, slowly to allow team mate to protect the ball or play one touch)
6. Accuracy of the Pass - In front if no opponent near, behind if opponent close
7. Timing - When to release the ball to best help team mate
Variations:
1. Points system for a ball recovery and for a ball recovery including a successful switch to the own square (1 point and 3 points)
2. Competition: Who has collected the most points after a certain period of time?
