Come & see how I sew these adorable journal covers. You can use your pretty fabrics, your fabric scraps, fat quarters or yardage. You can quilt as you go (qayg), free motion quilt, paper piece, hand piece, english paper piece (epp) or you just just the leave the fabric plain if you need a super quick project.
I'm making these as gifts, it helps to make a bunch at a time so you've always got a present on hand for unexpected birthdays.
Mind you, hoping that my kids don't get invited to anymore parties this year so I can keep them for myself!
This is a chatty vlog style not really a tutorial. There is no background music (no bgm), it's kind of an ASMR style as you can hear the scissors, the sewing & even my budgie chatting in the background!
It's perfect sewing for beginners as you don't need to worry about having the latest sewing gadgets or sewing straight lines!. There are sewing hacks, sewing tips and tricks for those new to sewing.
This journal/book cover is great for those needing teachers gifts, Christmas gifts, birthday gifts, thank you gifts, hostess gifts. It's a great back to school project, it's a great graduation gift or congrats on the new job gift too.
It's perfect for those new to sewing or intermediate & experienced sewists and it's all done on a domestic sewing machine (Janome sewing machine).
I love making these with scrap fabric, so it's like a mini scrap quilt or crazy quilt, perfect for scrap fabric sewing projects. You could also use precuts for this too and it's perfect for jelly rolls scraps so you can make a truly unique jelly roll quilt!
It's the perfect project for a scrap batik fabric or any low volume fabric, treasured Tula Pink fabric or Tilda fabrics.Make it your own with fabric design with the scrap fabric. diy fabric ideas with woven fabric and knit fabric too (lycra fabric) with a stabiliser.
After you've finished making this pouch you may be ready for more and you should totally check out the channels Missouri Star Quilt Company, Donna Jordan quilt tutorials aka Jordan Quilts, Minki Kim or even Debbie Shore sewing tutorials
Happy sewing!
