This 1993 detective / mystery solving adventure game by Microprose is based on Phantom of the Opera. I really like the soundtrack, sets up the atmosphere nicely, but only to be decimated by awful voice actors. Animation is good and graphics look OK in few places, but progressively more blurry and confusing as details increase. The script is boring and told boringly. There's an option to speed walk the character, but it's not always possible.

Novice difficulty was selected, because the difficulty only affects the mandatory maze section, making it longer. This just makes the game longer by adding more of the same. Correct paths for both novice and hard difficulty can be checked from a written walkthrough. Another thing, there are few places with death scenes towards the end. For these places death is shown first, followed by the correct option. In one room the character dies if it takes too long to solve a puzzle. Here the video was edited to skip idle time. -
