Out of all the lenses I have ever owned or used, the Contax Mount Carl Zeiss 85mm f/1.4 has to be my favorite. I have not used it extensively yet, however from what I have seen thus far, this lens is something special.
I ended up purchasing the lens from a Japanese eBay retailer that has a great reputation for selling vintage Zeiss glass, and couldn't be happier with their services. The lens was built in West Germany most likely around the 1960s-1970s. It is built exceptionally well being all metal and glass. The only drawback I would have to say, is the weight of the lens, it is extremely heavy. But it is a minor tradeoff for a classic camera lens that shoot beautiful photographs, and fits the Sony A7II very nicely.
