Official side-event to the UN High Level Political Forum 2024, titled 'Good Practices and Challenges in the 2030 Agenda – Showcasing ongoing inclusive strategies of Communities Discriminated on Work and Descent' was co-hosted by Permanent Mission of Nepal to the UN, Permanent Mission of North Macedonia to the UN, UN Women, Global Forum of CDWD & The Inclusivity Project. The event featured distinguished speakers including H.E. Bob Rae, Ambassador of Canada to the UN; H.E. Mohan Pieris, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the UN; H.E. Ljubomir Danailov Frchkoski, Ambassador of North Macedonia to the UN; Marie Elena John from UN Women; Paula F. Wulff from Agenda 2030 Spain; Bisseng from GFoD; Gustavo Bolívar from Prosperidad Colombia; and Ms. Anita from the National Planning Commission of Nepal. Key points highlighted included the commitment to ongoing CDWD advocacy, the need for effective mechanisms to address discrimination against Roma communities, the role of UN Networks in tackling discrimination, strategies for inclusion to attain SDGs, the global impact of work and descent-based discrimination, the significance of education and gender perspectives, and the socio-political and economic challenges faced by the Dalit community in Nepal. We are grateful for the solidarity and powerful statements from our speakers, and we continue to push for the inclusion and rights of CDWD communities worldwide.
