Rhonchi will mostly be heard during expiration, but can occur in inspiration. These sounds have a low pitch and are continuous in nature.
Rhonchi lung sounds typically originate from the large airways, such as the trachea and bronchus, and the sounds you hear on auscultation will resemble snoring or snorting.
