Apfelschorle is a favourite German refreshing drink made by mixing apple juice with sparkling mineral water or any carbonated water. You can also make a Weinschorle by mixing white wine with carbonated water.
In this apfelschorle recipe, I use red apples with the peel to make the apple juice. The apple juice turns brown because the cut apples begin to oxidise when they come into contact with air. If you want to prevent the juice from turning brown as you prepare it, you can add some lemon or lime juice.
I did not add any lemon juice as I wanted to keep the pure taste of the apple juice and this is why the end resulting juice is brown. I think the colour is beautiful.
Once the fresh apple juice is ready mix it with soda water or sparkling mineral water and you are all done! Consume immediately as you want the full benefits of the fresh juice.
