In this video, I show you how to reset your password on an Intel mac with a few simple steps without the need of an Apple ID account. My laptop is running the latest version of MacOS Big Sur as of the making of this video.

If you get the message "Activate Mac" make sure that the MacBook is plugged in to your Internet box via ethernet cable. This is how I normally get around this new procedure since all it really wants is a connection to the internet for the hardware to get reactivated. Alternately, you can connect via Wi-Fi by going to the upper right-hand side of the screen.
