Skimender sticks are chemically the same as the P-Tex sticks and both are actually made from a very similar material to the ski/board base.
The sticks do not really bond to base it is more a weld, so if the temperature is not high enough you'll get very little adhesion.
The RP 100 / 105 tools are the smallest of our Ski repair tools and do take around 20 - 30 minutes to reach maximum temperature.
The RP 360 heats up to a much higher temperature very quickly, and therfore will create a much stronger bond.
Simply allow the gun enough time to reach optimum temperature, and use the flat area of the nozzle to warm the base of the ski/snowboard for a few seconds before the repair material is extruded. Then move quite slowly trying to get heat into the base with the nozzle as you apply the repair material, this should ensure a good weld.
