Unidentified Aerial Phenomena or UAPs — better known as UFOs in non-military speak — have long been on the U.S. government's radar. But Congress recently held its first hearing about them in more than 50 years to get an update on UAP incidents. In testimony, intelligence officials talked about "competing needs for transparency and secrecy" while they investigate some 400 encounters with UAPs dating back to 2004.
