On Saturday, September 24, 2022, Wilton Cardinal Gregory, Archbishop of Washington, celebrated a special Mass on St. Clement’s Island in Southern Maryland as part of "The Journey" - an annual Pilgrimage attended largely by High School students that allows Catholics to return to the very same place that Jesuit Father Andrew White celebrated the first Catholic Mass ever held in the English colonies, in 1634!
