Coronavirus infections in the Eastern Cape are on the rise.
The province is currently dealing with over 1 700 active cases. The Nelson Mandela Bay Metro is a hotspot, with over 67% of the infections reported in the metro. The Buffalo City Metro and the Sarah Baartman district are also areas of concern. Hospitals in the public and private sector are under pressure.
