Two weeks ago, NTV aired a story titled "Education shutdown" which highlighted how the education sector in Garissa county had been adversely affected due to lack of teachers.
After the exodus of teachers in the region, the government promised to address the existing shortfall of teachers, one year down the line... little progress had been made.
The Ministry of Education acknowledged that there was a delay in releasing funds meant to employ untrained teachers. Rose Wangui with that story.
