It's time to dive into Mortal Kombat X. First off, let me just say that I loved this game at first, but overall I think I prefer MK9 over it for a few reasons: I like the roster better, I'm familiar with more characters in MK9 overall, and this game can feel awkwardly fast to me at times with all the running. In this game, I stuck with one character for its entire duration, Cryomancer Sub Zero, who they changed greatly around the end of 2016, and I never got around to relearning him.
The Meta in this game always bugged me a little. Some characters had to work their ass to get good damage, while others like Jason and Liu Kang had simple dial up strings that could get them anywhere from 35-40% damage anywhere they pleased, no meter or awkward running required.
Anyway, you're not here for that, you're here for story mode. Be prepared - I know how to use only one character in this thing, and they changed the crap out of him from when I last played him.

Mortal Kombat X, continues Netherrealms revolutionary story mode formula that changed single player fighting game content for the better. We pretend MK vs DC didn't happen, which had the same kind of story mode before this, but whatever.
MKX picks up right after MK9, and covers over 20 years in the timeline. And because of that, there's a lot of stuff this game doesn't let you in on. If you want all that sick lore, you'll have to read the garbage comic, where they kill of staple characters of the series willy nilly.
