Mayor Bill Norrie was the Winnipeg Mayor in the 80's. Bill would talk to everyone...be interviewed by anyone who asked...and was generally the most friendly of all the Winnipeg Mayors in the last two decades. i remember the Friday afternoons in his office where he would put his feet up on the table and talked to anyone who would show up...it did not matter if it was a university paper or a public access show producer. I love Mayor Bill...he will always be the real Mayor of Winnipeg...he was one of my first interviews...and I will always remember those days when there was very little protocal at Winnipeg City Hall. But of course Uncle Bill as many people called him was a very liberal guy in many ways....I learned a lot about people skills from him and NDP Premier Howard Pawley in the 80's who really one one of the people who I have always admired.
