On the morning of Friday, June 19, 2020, Regan Russell was run over by a pig-transport truck near a slaughterhouse while peacefully protesting the plight of pigs crowded and overheating inside. In her honor, a PETA staffer persuaded a farmer in Iowa, the nation's pork-producing capital, to spare two pigs' lives.
