i believe i originally described this band as a polka rock band, which i don't think is true anymore. i think this Album Specifically (titled "bodäschtändigs" and released in 1995) is polka rock, or more accurately: "pol-folka rock;" as 03 of the 05 total tracks (04 if you want to hop and skip over the intro) are covers of swiss and austrian folk songs, but i think the band as a whole is simply just a rock band. i'm not the genre police though, and i certainly am not a student of the arts of music, so like, whatever man. what even is a label anyway?
the music i will be releasing over the coming days is performed by a band called wet dreams. you can probably see why this would have caught my eye at the thrift store. it's not too often (if ever) you see an album with "Wet Dreams" plastered on the spine of it, and i may or may not have exclaimed an exclamation of sorts upon glancing over it.
upon researching the tracks on this album, i discovered someone (user silvoo-sound on youtube) has already posted track 02 (alpä-medley) 8 years ago. in fact, i discovered they also posted a Second song by wet dreams as well! one called "everybody needs the drug," which was released on their album "PEP" in 2000. this post by silvoo-sound led me to the wet dreams spotify page [[ Ссылка ]], which i didn't know existed until writing this because... well, i don't think any of the songs besides track 02 on this particular album have been posted online. at least not that i can find.
what i DID find though, was shockingly more than i was expecting! i think this band was pretty big compared to some of the ones i will be posting in the future! they have a facebook page [[ Ссылка ]] which states the band was dissolved in 2001. the last it was updated was in march of 2021 after not posting since, funnily enough, march, of 2017, so i am certain the person maintaining that account (likely a former band member) is still kicking. who knows, maybe we will get a new post in march of 2025.
a band that crops up alongside these guys is a Different band called wet dreams under the label black pop records, but they are based out of norway and have nothing to do with wet dreams out of switzerland. unless they happen to have switzerland-set wet dreams, Which Would Be Pretty Weird, but have you ever tried controlling your dreams? it's pretty hard. i don't think we should judge.
