In 2008, Bioshock was bought by Universal to be a film directed by Pirates of the Caribbean movie director Gore Verbinski, written by John Logan from The Aviator, The Gladiator and Skyfall. Universal, Take Two’s Strauss Zelnick and Ken Levine created the deal together, and Juan Carlos Fresnadillo would step in. Watchmen’s failure lead to The Bioshock Movie being Cancelled.
