Somalia: At least 15 people were killed on Tuesday in a suicide bombing at an army camp in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, Reuters reported a witness who counted the bodies at Madina Hospital said. There was no immediate claim of responsibility.
Morocco: U.S.-led forces are carrying out military exercises codenamed “African Lion” across Morocco. According to U.S. Africa Command (Africom) more than 7,000 personnel from nine countries and NATO are taking part in the war games.
Senegal: The Senegalese army said Monday that it had captured several rebel bases in the southern Casamance region. One of Africa's oldest ongoing conflicts, the fighting in Casamance has claimed thousands of lives since it first broke out in December 1982.
South Africa: The discovery of stones in a South African village resulted in a diamond rush. More than 1,000 people are seeking their fortune in the soil although it was not confirmed that discovered stones are diamonds.
Mediterranean: International aid group Doctors Without Borders (MSF) said it is searching for a port to disembark the migrants saved in the Mediterranean Sea. MSF saved 410 migrants from drowning in a 48-hour period last week.
