If you do resistance training whether at the gym or at home & follow a workout program, your first week of that plan sets the base of progressive overload for the weeks to follow. That means literally when you just start, you can make or break your gains-making potential. Your progress can be completely limited before you even start making any & this training mistake is so frequently made by people without them even knowing!

It’s titled “STOP SABOTAGING GAINS and GUARANTEE PROGRESS NOW if you DO THIS!” & I highly recommend you watch that full video too if you haven’t yet especially if you find yourself making this exact training mistake or if you struggle with any means of progressive overload!
A general rule of thumb to keep it as simple as possible at first is to always start light & work your way up. You should never find yourself going down in weight on any exercise while doing the same routines of a workout program if going up in weight is your method of progression. Make sure you always are doing a little bit more than you did last time & that will add up significantly over time!
