A highly-respected American investigative journalist has claimed the U.S. government′s account on the raid on the former Al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden was a ″work of fiction,... a complete fairy-tale.″
Seymour Hersh,... who won the Pulitzer Prize in the 1970s,... says the U.S. got to Bin Laden with Pakistan′s help... and President Obama misled the public about how the U.S. killed the terror leader.
The Obama administration has always claimed the 2011 mission was a top-secret, risky U.S. action, but Hersh says it was a joint operation between the U.S. and Pakistani military intelligence.
Hersh attributes his information to a retired general of the Pakistani intelligence service and several unidentified sources in the U.S. and Pakistan.
Responding to the claims,... the White House said Hersh′s claims are ″baseless assertions.″
