A. Which Documents are needed to apply for EPCG Redemption?
1. Digital Signature Certificate Class III for DGFT Purpose
2. Valid RCMC of a relevant Export Promotion Council
3. Proof of export i.e. Shipping Bills and corresponding eBRCs as proof of payment
4. Import Bills of entries
5. Statement of Export and Import Duly Certified by Chartered Accountant (CA) with UDIN Number
B. What is the procedure to apply for redemption?
As a part of the New and Revamped IT Systems at the DGFT, the process for application of redemption of EPCG License has been taken completely online.
An exporter has to generate the documents discussed in the earlier section of the video and apply it online with the DGFT Regional Authority; No need to submit the documents physically.
C. A checklist of key points to be considered before applying for Redemption of EPCG License.
1. Whether the export obligation is fulfilled within the stipulated period?
2. Whether both the Specific Export Obligation and Average Export Obligation is complete?
3. Check for industrial slowdown - In cases where the total exports of specific industrial sectors have decreased by more than 5% compared to the previous year, the average export obligation for the current year will be adjusted accordingly to offer relief to exporters.
4. Whether the EPCG Number is mentioned on the shipping bills?
5. Whether the EPCG Number mentioned on the shipping bill is not wrong?
6. Ensure there are no repetitions in shipping bills: Shipping bills utilized to fulfill the Average Export Obligation cannot be utilized for fulfilling the Specific Export Obligation.
7. Check if the bloc-wise Export Obligation is Complete
8. Check if the installation certificate was submitted within the stipulated time
9. Check if the actual duty paid amount corresponds to the amount mentioned on the EPCG License
10. Check whether the exported goods match the ones mentioned on the EPCG License
11. Check whether the name of the Supporting Manufacturer is mentioned on the shipping bills
