DTG M2 Training 2015 Direct to Garment Printing A Black Shirt using White Ink

This video takes you through printing on a dark t-shirt using white ink with the M2 Direct to Garment Printer. It is part of our dtg training series for the M2 Training on printing with white ink.

The M2 DTG Printer is capable of printing on both light and dark t-shirts and other textiles. The reason that you see it print the white ink layer first is so the colors have a base to lay on and keep their integrity. For example, if you were printing with yellow ink on a black t-shirt without a white ink underbase, you would get a very dull yellow because the color attaches to the fibers of the black shirt.

If you were printing a custom t shirt on a white or light colored shirt, you don't necessarily need the white layer. This would decrease the cost of custom printing your design.

The M2 will also print on many 50/50 polyester t-shirts with the appropriate pretreatment and DTG ink, as well as on things like canvas bags, picture canvas, jeans, hoodies and jackets, etc.

The M2 is a great t shirt printing machine to base a custom t shirt business on! One of the key features to the DTG brand product line is its ability to print more than one shirt at a time. You see in the video that we're using just one full size platen, but there's is obviously room for 2. You can actually print up to 4 different designs/t-shirts at once depending on the size of the design. OR you can print one huge almost 18" x 24" print! The other popular printers on the market, like the brother dtg, epson dtg and anajet brands have a single fixed platen.
