The Centre for Transformative Innovation invites you to an in-person public seminar presented by Dr Alison Todd Co-Founder & Chief Scientific Officer, SpeeDx Pty Ltd .
Dr Todd’s research has produced diagnostic tests for infectious diseases which can help detect antibiotic susceptibility. This allows clinicians to treat patients with appropriate antibiotics and reduce the transmission of antibiotic-resistant infections.
To commercialise her discoveries, she founded SpeeDx Pty Ltd in 2009. Since then it has become a rapidly expanding, manufacturing company with export sales and a strong pipeline of new products
Dr Todd will discuss the entrepreneurial side of her research, exploring her initial steps to implement a business. The presentation will outline the steps involved in building an Australian Diagnostics company and growing the business globally. The highs and lows of the SpeeDx journey will be followed through stories of triumphs and challenges.
