BREAKFAST BRIEFING: Environmentally Sustainable Television
Alice Enders, Enders Analysis
The UK is among the few "hard pledge" participants in the UN Climate Change Conference to deliver net zero by 2050. The UK's transition to net zero is set out in legislation, ensuring that government policy is aligned with that objective. How the private sector operates is critical because businesses deliver most goods and services in the UK. Every business in the UK has to make the transition to net zero by 2050 by law, although many in the Technology, Media and Telecom (TMT) sectors have advanced that goal to 2035. Even in countries that are not "hard pledge", as yet, businesses are embracing net zero objectives and reporting on their advances to their owners, making it easier for governments to sign up to net zero.
