The Secret ingredient to make a Great Gin Gimlet cocktail
HISTORY:
A gimlet is a hand-held drill for boring holes, and would have likely been used on Royal Navy ships. The drink could have been named for its “piercing effect” on the sailors. The name also could have come from the naval surgeon Sir Thomas Gimlette, who may have come up with the drink as a way to combat scurvy.
The drink, by legend, was a gin drink invented late in the 18th century by sailors in the Royal Navy who received daily rations of gin and lime. The gimlet is a barrel-boring device that was sent with lime-juice casks to the British colonies
Ingredients:
1. Lemon Juice : 30 ml
2. Simple Syrup : 20 ml
3. Gin : 60 ml
Ice in the shaker, then add all the ingredients and shake it for 15 secs.
Keep ice in the glass for making the glass cold, add all the mixed ingredients from the shaker and serve it chilled.
Garnish : Lemon slice
Glassware : Martini
