CINCINNATI (WKRC) - A local woman is doing something really "cool" to stay well, and it also might also help in the fight against addiction.
Many people looking for alternatives to ease pain without prescription drugs are turning to a targeted treatment that one woman says has given her "chilling" success.
Just a few months ago when Nahamani Yisrael noticed a sharp pain on her shoulder blade that wouldn't go away, she turned to Sandra Waits. Waits is a life coach trained in healing touch and a newer therapy called Rapid Results Cryo, or cryotherapy.
Yisrael said she wanted to stay away from painkillers after a 12-step program helped her get sober.
"I could not be the person that I was intended to be if I was always chasing the high," Yisrael said.
One session of targeted cryotherapy and she says she hasn't felt that pain since. The cooling therapy uses a wand at a very low temperature to treat a specific area where you are feeling tension and pain and to help in injury recovery.
The treatments are intended to be part of a total wellness plan, which also addresses the whole person. For Yisrael, that meant a bit of surrender with this Rapid Results Cryo.
"What I've been trying to do spiritually since then is let God be God and let go. Let him work his magic in my life and in the life of those that I love," she said.
