the Broad-bodied Chaser (Libellula depressa) has a distinctive behaviour of pulsating its abdomen. The internet tells me that the Chaser breathes through the abdomen and the pulsing is to do with breathing; however, other bits of the internet tell me where to look for fire-breathing dragonflies!
Anyway, filmed in May 2023, and three visited the garden this year.
