In partnership with the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) will hold a webinar to kick off an exploration of new opportunities for transforming tribal early childhood programs and systems. This webinar will kick off a series of meetings to provide a space for discussion about a variety of issues related to coordination and alignment of early childhood programs in American Indian and Alaska Native communities. The American Rescue Plan (ARP) and other COVID-19 related legislation included large investments in the Tribal Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) as well as additional funding for American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) Head Start and Tribal Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) programs as well as programs funded by the Department of Education. The increased funds, along with a heightened national focus on tribal early childhood issues, present an unprecedented opportunity for tribal communities to develop and implement a vision to improve tribal early childhood programs and systems to better meet their needs.

During this webinar, participants will hear about tribal early childhood efforts and recent meetings held by ACF to learn more about priorities for tribal early childhood program coordination and a Blueprint for Action resulting from those meetings. Leaders from ACF will then share about new early childhood funding, priorities, and guidance. Following an interactive conversation with tribal early childhood stakeholders to reflect on this new opportunity, the meeting will conclude with a discussion of next steps for exploring the transformation of tribal early childhood programs and systems.
