On Thursday 28th September 2023, steam locomotive C16 106 conducted its final test run before receiving accreditation to haul paying passengers.

The load consisted of the OCEMT water wagon and 3 stainless steel "SX" carriages, provided a reasonable weight on the drawhook to simulate how well the locomotive could handle the loads that are expected of it.

By all accounts the test was a resounding success and it handled the load with ease. It's anticipated that passenger operations could commence in early 2024.
