what's going on with the chronicled banner? let’s break this down because things are starting to look a little… familiar. So, the leak floating around a month ago was that version 5.3 will feature the next chronicled banner, supposedly highlighting Liyue characters. But the thing is, the version 5.3 beta has been out for a while now, and yet there’s nothing concrete about this chronicled banner. In fact, we don’t even have the usual banner leaks yet. Normally, by this point, insiders would have spilled the tea about the featured characters. But this time? All we’ve got is one leak about a single character. That’s it.

Now, this could mean one of two things. Either the chronicled banner leak we’ve heard about is spot-on, and it just hasn’t been fully revealed yet, or the leak was just.. false. If you think back to version 4.5, when the first chronicled banner was introduced, it followed a similar pattern. Back then, we didn’t know there would be a banner named "chronicled banner" until the special livestream was close. Even the leakers back then were speculating that it would be Albedo's banner, which turned out to be kinda... true... since Albedo was included in the chronicled banner. What i’m trying to say is, the leaks about the chronicled banner tend to come out later because they’re not always included in the initial beta files. This could explain why we haven’t seen anything concrete yet. So, if we’re not getting information about the chronicled banner this time either, it might be because they’re holding off until closer to the livestream, just like in version 4.5.

The fact that we don’t have full banner leaks is strange. normally, by now, we’d know everything from the characters to the weapon banners. This lack of details feels intentional, almost like HoYoverse is keeping things tightly under wraps. The fact that we don’t even know about the chronicled banner yet, might just be a sign that the chronicled banner leak is also still under wraps.

Speaking of the leaked banners, according to HomDGCat, version 5.3 will feature Mavuika, Arlecchino, and Citlali. We’re still missing one character, but I’m sure we’ll get more info on that soon. Mavuika is expected to be featured in the first phase banners, which isn’t surprising. Every Archon’s first banner has always been in the first phase, so it makes perfect sense for Mavuika to follow the same pattern.

Citlali, on the other hand, is rumored to appear in the second phase banners. As for Arlecchino, the leaker didn’t specify which phase she’ll rerun in, but there’s a good chance she’ll be part of the second phase. Let’s be real—HoYoverse wouldn’t put Mavuika and Arlecchino in the same phase; they want to maximize profits from both phases.

As for the last remaining character, there’s no information yet. It’s likely that even the leakers haven’t seen them in the beta files. After all, this is only the first phase of the beta, so more details will probably come out later. This could also explain why we haven’t seen any concrete information about the chronicled banner either.
