July 1, 1984: The U.S. Olympic basketball team defeats a team of NBA players, 94-90, in an exhibition game at the Metrodome in Minneapolis.
Sam Perkins (University of North Carolina) scored 16 PTS to lead the Olympians. Kevin McHale scored a team-high 18 PTS for the NBA squad.
The U.S. Olympic team included: Steve Alford, Johnny Dawkins, Patrick Ewing, Vern Fleming, Lancaster Gordon, Michael Jordan, Joe Kleine, Jon Koncak, Tim McCormick, Chris Mullin, Perkins, Chuck Person, Alvin Robertson, Wayman Tisdale, Jeff Turner and Leon Wood.
The roster for the NBA team consisted of: Mark Aguirre, Randy Breuer, Ron Brewer, Chris Engler, Magic Johnson, McHale, Mark Olberding, Dan Roundfield, Isiah Thomas, Trent Tucker and Ray Williams.
