So to wrap up this review, we gave the Sony Zeiss 35mm f/1.4 lens a 45.5 out of 50 and our Highly Recommended rating. If you’re a professional considering the move to the Sony full frame mirrorless system, then the 35mm f/1.4 is a very worthy addition to your kit, as the optical quality is literally on the breathtaking side, but the lens isn't without it’s downsides, as I’ve mentioned a couple of times the AF on the A7 would give me an ulcer if I shot weddings with them all of the time and I’d be petrified that I might miss too many shots - especially in crummy lighting - but when the light is good, the 35 is capable of delivering world class images and AF performance - really world class, but at $1,598 this is on the very high end of prime lenses in the Sony arsenal, something you really need to consider before you plunk down the cash to get one.
