Dismissive Avoidants & Fearful Avoidants often withdraw or isolate because they need their space and freedom.
The wound that is triggered here is the "I am trapped" or "I am stuck" core wound, which makes them feel suffocated in the relationship.
They often think it is the relationship or their partner that is causing this stifling feeling (in some cases it may be but a boundary should be set here) but in most cases it is the mask that they've learned to wear out in the world.
This video will tell you why they wear this mask and the path to feeling authentically free in a relationship that has nothing to do with ending the relationship.
