OSHA's updated Combustible Dust National Emphasis Program aims to inspect facilities that produce or handle combustible dust that pose a risk of fire, flash fire, deflagration, or explosion.
The new proposed methodology for locating and inspecting relevant establishments is outlined in the amended program.
OSHA discovered that the following industries were added to the program because they were more likely to experience combustible dust hazards or fatalities/catastrophes connected to combustible dust:
311812 - Commercial Bakeries.
325910 - Printing Ink Manufacturing.
321912 - Cut Stock, Resawing Lumber, and Planning.
316110 - Leather and Hide Tanning and Finishing.
321214 - Truss Manufacturing.
424510 - Grain and Field Bean Merchant Wholesalers.
So, if you have a business that falls in any of these categories, make sure you comply with the latest rules.
