Congress vice-president today visited Gandhinagar in poll-bound Gujarat and addressed a rally where he was joined by OBC leader Alpesh Thakor. Alpesh Thakor, the convenor of the OBC, ST and ST Ekta Manch, will join the Congress on Wednesday in the presence of its vice-president, Rahul Gandhi. The move comes just weeks ahead of an Assembly election in Gujarat, where OBCs account for 54 percent of the population. Meanwhile, BJP has been accused of spending crores on buying votes of Patidar community.
