Recently I noticed that my mini was leaking a bit of coolant. At first it was only a small leak but then suddenly it began to leak a lot. After some investigation I found that it was due to the seal in the water pump and a cracked coolant pipe. So I replaced those and it worked again!... Easier said than done. The water pump was easy enough (well.. relative to the crossover pipe, it was still a pain in the end) but the $25 piece of junk plastic wasn't fitting properly no matter what I did!
Lesson learned: Don't buy a Mini. But if you're foolish like me and want to try your hand at DIY repairs for it, make sure to not be like me and invest in some proper tools like a pressure tester and ratcheting wrenches. It would have made my work so much easier (And I wouldm't have wasted so much coolant either...). But still a pain either way.
