Hi everybody, and welcome to my "stevenofpa" YouTube Channel!
This video shows you what it was like to rig up this transmission shifter clip on the shift lever of this 2004 Ford Explorer SUV similar to Mercury Mountaineer, after the plastic clip broke off and became disconnected from the shift lever, the shifter in the car on the dashboard steering column shift handle would just move slip up and down and not retain in any specific gear because the cable came undone became disconnect disconnected not working broke broken slip shift move gear forward reverse park no move not move moving drive forward or backward backwards no go
instead I had to use a screwdriver wrench to engage the pin on the lever and move the shifter into neutral so the engine could be started to start the engine, and then shift the car into drive with the wrench and use the parking brake to stop the vehicle and hold it still, because the clip broke popped off. At least now I can drive the car and get it home, after being stuck on the side of the PA Penn Penna Pennsylvania Turnpike highway roadway toll bridge, and then later, I can take it home to the shop and make proper repairs, pretty cool!!!! stop at mcdonald McDonald's on the PA turnpike pocono poconos exit I-80 exit 95
