Robert Louis Stevenson's Gothic novella, STRANGE CASE OF DR. JEKYLL & MR. HYDE was published in 1886.
It was published in comic book form in August 1943 (Issue # 13) by the then-known-as CLASSIC COMICS, which later became known as CLASSICS ILLUSTRATED (the name change came in 1947).
Classics Illustrated Magazine's original 169 editions were published from 1941 through 1962 (from 1941 through 1947, they were known as CLASSIC COMICS). In the 1950's & 1960's, these original magazines were reprinted with different covers than the original 169.This video is of one of the reprinted issues.
